About Rebecca

Rebecca Bent Rebecca Bent was born in Baltimore, MD to a Sicilian-American mother and German-American father. She spent her early childhood in Germany where her father was a physician in the Army. Her mother insisted the family live off base so that her children could learn the language and be immersed in the culture. In the small town where they lived, her mother orchestrated regular gatherings where garden-grown homemade dishes and good conversation were abundant. Her fondest memories come from those gatherings where everyone would sit around a long table and share a meal together.

When Rebecca and her family returned to Maryland, Rebecca gravitated toward the kitchen where she learned to cook from her grandmothers, Edna and Josey. There she learned to love the magical chaos of the kitchen and the art of creating a meaningful family meal—from the delicious food to the conversations that were shared.

To recreate that environment for others, Rebecca has developed over 50+ unique food products that range from flavorful condiments—that dress up every day dishes—to award-winning appetizers and entrees. She is also author and co-authors of several cookbooks where she shares her family recipes and stories, and tips for getting the most out of spending time together around the table.

Rebecca is an owner in multiple food businesses, a seafood restaurant and retail stores whose products have been featured in “O” Oprah Magazine, Costal Living, Newsweek, Forbes, USA TODAY, Better Housekeeping, Today Show, Garden and Gun, Kiplinger’s, Star, Home Shopping Network, Variety, Working Mother, First, and Newsday to name a few.

She is also a professional photographer and her work appears in numerous cookbooks, including her own and national and international magazines and newspapers.

Rebecca Bent lives in New York with her husband and their three children.
